INAUGURAL FUNCTION -NEW HUTMENTS -11 AUG 2019

The inaugural function of newly built 17 hutments at Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu  built by Team Nizhalgal went well on 11 August 2019 . 

                                                         SUMMARY OF EVENTS

1.Unveiling of "Thiruvalluvar Kudiyirippu" name board by the District Sub- Collector Mr.VishuMahajan. Note: Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu people were allocated patta in July 2019 after long long struggle.  

2. The District Sub-Collector and the invitees were then welcomed with eye catching traditional "Kolattam" dance through the newly built mud road leading to the hamlet. 

3.  Ribbon cutting by the Asst.Collector for the new hutment complex.

4. Flag Hoisting by Asst.Collector.          

    

5. Traditional Milk Boiling to commemorate hut inauguration. 

6. Ribbon cutting by  Mr.Murugaram IRS to inaugurate temporary mini Library inside Anganwadi building 

7.Individual Hutments were then inaugurated by the Guests of honour Mr.Balasubramanium IRS, Ms.Nandhitha /Thadilshar, Ms.Sandanalakshmi /LeBanyan member., Ms.Vakshala /Retd. Headmistress, Mr.Vijayaragunathan/ VAO , and Nizhalgalites.

8.Welcome address by Nizhalgalite Mr.Niranjan. 

9.An Introduction to Nizhalgal Servicing Society by Nizhalgalite Mr.Pradeep  

  

10. Registeration of Chief Guest Mr.Vishumahajan in the Visitors diary 

11.Oath taking by Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu (TVK) village people to disassociate from alcohol, drugs , tobacco ,intoxicants, uphold Constitution and be a ideal citizen followed by issue of Certificates to the oath takers by the chief guest 

12. Distribution of Badges to President Mr. Babu and Vice President Mr.Ezhumalai of Youth Club and  to President Ms.Poongodi and Vice President Ms.Maheswari of Self Help Group (SHG) by the Asst Collector 

13. Address by guest of honours Mr.Balasubramanian, IRS and Mr.Murugaram, IRS.

14. Chief guest Address by Asst Collector 

15. Honouring Chief guest, Guests of honours and other invites by team Nizhalgal 

16.Joint lunch with TK people 

17.Special awareness speech by  invitees, health and awareness videos to women using projector

CYCLE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN -28th OCT 2019

Our Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu child Ms. Dhanalakshmi  9th Standard at Govt Hsc School, Killai and her younger sister Ms.Sandhya 7th standard at Govt. High School, Kalaignar  nagar had been staying in a hostel  run  for socially backward children, as the schools are 6 kms away from TVK. The girls father fed away from the family and mother has been taking care of these children.

 Our TVK children are the only tribal children in hostel. It seems they were treated with disrespect and were compelled to do menial tasks at hostel by the  caretakers and co students. They have to wash the inner wears of all the students everyday. Unable to tolerate these things, they informed mother and Mr.Boorasamy. 

While this issue should be dealt strongly, the children were taken back to their homes and arrangements were made for their transportation from TVK to schools. Bus pass could not be arranged now as they would be issued only at the beginning of the academic year. Hence, Cycle was bought for the children by team Nizhalgal on 28.10.2019. 

 Among the TVK  children, these children are the ones who are studying at higher  class and they will be the first children to take up higher education. Also they are the toppers of their respective classes.

     Today(11/02/2019) Mr.T.Pazhani (DPO)  District Integrated child Development Project Officer and
Ms.Anitha Senthil (CDPO) Child Delvelopment project Officer ( Block level )  inaugrated the Anganwadi functioning at the newly constructed Valluvar Kudiyiruppu building sponsored by Nizhalgal.
10 nos. of floor mats as required for the children of VK in Anganwadi were also sponsored by Nizhalgal .
To mark the beginning of Anganwadi,  boiled milk and chocolates were distributed to the VK children and women.
     Social worker Mr.Boorasamy made all the required arrangements for the event.Through Anganwadi the children and the pregnant women will get healthy nutritious food everyday.

As told before Only one Anganwadi worker(cook) has been appointed to VK. A teacher will be appointed within a year through Govt..Till that time  a teacher has to hired for the VK children.

This Anganwadi will be a sub branch to the already existing one in C.Manampadi.

     This is historic and novel for it will ensure a healthy and bright life to VK inmates.

Er.Pravin and Er.Gnanamurugan sir of Nizhalgal team visited Valluvar kudiyiruppu on 8th February..

The temporary Anganwadi building built by Nizhalgal is in good shape now...Functioning will start from Monday...Happy that children will get nutirious food from Monday and they will be taken care of by Anganwadi worker...

As of now the worker alloted to VK can only cook and take care of children, to educate children there we need to look for other options.

VK people are now looking better, clean, organised and determined to grow.wonderful site considering what they were a year ago.

We also visited tribal school where VK children are inducted..we talked to the teachers and asst Head master too..

The students sound great when picked up conversation with them. Salutes to the teachers as they are handling the first generation tribal lot with care concern love and responsibility....

Happy to know the developments at Valluvar Kudyiruppu. Salute to the resolve and efforts of Nizhalgal team. A great step towards permanent settlement for them. We should help them to find a place in India Map....

Tasks ahead:
1. Till we get patta nothing is permanent...Hope we get it soon...

2. Sponsor teacher for the Anganwadi.

3. Currently it will be a sub center of an nerby Anganwadi. We should convert it to an full fledged Anganwadi.

4. As current settlement is completely surrounded by rice fields an approach road adjacent to canal is urgently needed. Steps need to be taken in this regard.

5. Sponsor teaching aid and furnish Anganwadi

6. Provide solar power supply with LED lighting ans a fan for Anganwadi. As there is no patta EB connection can't be given.

7. Construct toilet complex

8. Repair temporary hutments

இன்று 21.12.2018 வள்ளுவர் குடியிருப்பு (சிதம்பரம் கில்லை சி மானம்படி இருளர் குடியிருப்பு) மக்கள் ஒரு வேளை உணவுக்கே மிகவும் கஷ்ட்டப்படும் நிலையில் தன்னார்வளர்கள் மற்றும் நல்ல உள்ளம் படைத்த அரசு அதிகாரிகளின் முழு முயற்சியின் காரனமாக, வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் இவர்கள் பசியில்லாமல் சாப்பிட இன்று வள்ளுவர் குடியிருப்பு மக்களுக்கு புதிய குடும்ப அட்டை Ration card சிதம்பரம் சார் ஆட்சியர் விசு மஹாஜன் IAS வழங்கினார்

இந்த பணியில் பூராசமி, கார்த்திக் ராஜ் மற்றும் அவர்களது நண்பர்களின் கடலுார் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு மீட்பு நாட்கள் முதல் இடைவிடாத முயற்சி மனம் நெகிழ வைக்கும் உன்னத செயலாகும்.

இவருடன் சிதம்பரம் குடிமைப்பொருள் வழங்கல் தாசில்தார் நந்திதா மற்றும் குடிமைப் பொருள் ஆய்வாளர் நாகேந்திரன் உட்பட நிகழ்வில் கலந்துக் கொண்டனர.

Skin disorders of Children in Valluvar Kudiyiruppu

These are children from Valluvar Kudiyiruppu. Many have skin disorders as they live without houses and basic sanitation facility.

General, Eye and Dental Medical Camp - 7th Oct 2018

An Medical Camp was held on 7th October 2018 by Nizhalgal Team. All of us, the residents of Thiruvalluvar kudiyarappu hamlet and majority of brethren from C.Manampadi village have benefited out of the program. We are thankful to the medical team who has treated us with great professionalism and patience.

1. Screening tests were conducted
2. Medicines worth nearly 30k were distributed.
3. 15 patients were identified with Cateract and will be operated for free at Dr.Reddys Dental and Eye care unit Karaikal by Dr.G.V.Kamalapriya.

Village Meet - 7th Oct 2018 - Nizhalgal team met the villagers to discuss various about developmental needs and steps to be taken next.

Valluvar Kudiyiruppu gets Radio to connect with the world

Nizhalgal Team donated Valluvar Kudiyiruppu villagers with a new Radio set to connect with the rest of the world.

26 Fishing net (Surukku valai) were donated by Nizhalgal team.

On 10th June 2018 Nizhalgal team and MSSRF gave us 26 fishing surukku net and ice box. We were also trained for using it by MSSRF staff and we are now fishing using it.

Nizhalgal Team says that it is just that they are repaying the debt to us, as we are the earliest settlers and have toiled all along for betterment of the society by providing various services and goods from forests.
