FENCING OF TVK - 27th September 2019

Last week of September 2019 , one of our TVK children fell into the canal beside the hutments , The canal was deepened to extract mud during  hut construction. Trying to save this child , another child drowned. Thankfully the villagers saved both the children and hospitalized them. They are alright now. Hence, the eastern side of the hutments  were fenced today by team Nizhalgal. Mr.Boorasamy coordinated and carried out the ground works.

 




 

 


 


 

 

 

PATTA ALLOCATION TO TVK PEOPLE -29th JULY 2019

Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu people were issued "Anubandham" documents by the Assistant Collector , Mr.VishuMahajan/ IAS at Collector Office today(29.07.2019). Anubandham ensures land to the whole community and nobody else can stake claim of the land. Individual patta can be issued only after getting Anubandham. Consistent Relentless work of Mr.Boorasamy, Mr.Murugaram IRS and Nizhalgal team has paid dividends to TVK people. 

Individual Patta was then issued to TVK people on 27.08.2019 , after 71 years of independence the early inhabitants of the nation manage to get a land to live on their own. This is just historic.

We salute the District Sub Collector Mr.Vishu Mahajan, Thasildhar Cuddalore District, VAO, Surveyor and the entire district administration. We are also thankful to Mr.Arun, IAS , Ms.Revathi DRO/Kanyakumari and team "Tea kadai"(a group of civil servants) for their support and directions.

  

MILK AND NUTRITIOUS SNACKS SPONSOR TO TVK CHILDREN BY PUDUCHERRY BASED NGO LE BANYAN DE PEC- 15th August 2019

Le Banyan de PEC , Puducherry an NGO run by Alumini of Pondicherry Engineering College are sponsoring  Milk and Nutritious food like Sundal, Kadalai etc for the malnourished children and pregnant women of Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu from 15th August 2019 both in the morning and evening. 
Mr.Boorasamy and the Anganwadi teacher Mrs.Revathi are co-ordinating this work on ground and ensuring children get healthy food everyday.
Many thanks to Le Banyan member Dr.Sandhanalakshmi for initiating this programme and salutes to all the generous sponsors of this wonderful initiative. The Children are looking better every passing day and this will help them pursue their education effectively.

 

INSTALLATION OF HAND PUMP-6th September 2019

The only water source for  TVK people was the Hand pump . On 5th September 2019 it got damaged and TVK people were struggling to get water from surrounding as others did not allow them to utilize water at common places.

Nizhalgal  sponsored and installed new Hand pump in TVK with the concerted effort  of                     Mr. Boorasamy on 06th September 2019. 

 
 
 

INAUGURAL FUNCTION -NEW HUTMENTS -11 AUG 2019

The inaugural function of newly built 17 hutments at Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu  built by Team Nizhalgal went well on 11 August 2019 . 

                                                         SUMMARY OF EVENTS

1.Unveiling of "Thiruvalluvar Kudiyirippu" name board by the District Sub- Collector Mr.VishuMahajan. Note: Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu people were allocated patta in July 2019 after long long struggle.  

2. The District Sub-Collector and the invitees were then welcomed with eye catching traditional "Kolattam" dance through the newly built mud road leading to the hamlet. 

3.  Ribbon cutting by the Asst.Collector for the new hutment complex.

4. Flag Hoisting by Asst.Collector.          

    

5. Traditional Milk Boiling to commemorate hut inauguration. 

6. Ribbon cutting by  Mr.Murugaram IRS to inaugurate temporary mini Library inside Anganwadi building 

7.Individual Hutments were then inaugurated by the Guests of honour Mr.Balasubramanium IRS, Ms.Nandhitha /Thadilshar, Ms.Sandanalakshmi /LeBanyan member., Ms.Vakshala /Retd. Headmistress, Mr.Vijayaragunathan/ VAO , and Nizhalgalites.

12. Distribution of Badges to President Mr. Babu and Vice President Mr.Ezhumalai of Youth Club and  to President Ms.Poongodi and Vice President Ms.Maheswari of Self Help Group (SHG) by the Asst Collector

CYCLE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN -28th OCT 2019

Our Thiruvalluvar Kudiyiruppu child Ms. Dhanalakshmi  9th Standard at Govt Hsc School, Killai and her younger sister Ms.Sandhya 7th standard at Govt. High School, Kalaignar  nagar had been staying in a hostel  run  for socially backward children, as the schools are 6 kms away from TVK. The girls father fed away from the family and mother has been taking care of these children.

 Our TVK children are the only tribal children in hostel. It seems they were treated with disrespect and were compelled to do menial tasks at hostel by the  caretakers and co students. They have to wash the inner wears of all the students everyday. Unable to tolerate these things, they informed mother and Mr.Boorasamy. 

While this issue should be dealt strongly, the children were taken back to their homes and arrangements were made for their transportation from TVK to schools. Bus pass could not be arranged now as they would be issued only at the beginning of the academic year. Hence, Cycle was bought for the children by team Nizhalgal on 28.10.2019. 

 Among the TVK  children, these children are the ones who are studying at higher  class and they will be the first children to take up higher education. Also they are the toppers of their respective classes.
